I view wedding days in 5 main sections: prep, portraits, ceremony, family photos, and reception.

Prep photos: bride & bridesmaids getting ready – first moments with dad and/or mom – candid moments – groom & groomsmen getting ready – candid moments

Portraits: These photos include bride and groom portraits and full bridal party portraits. I let the couple choose whether their photos together are before or after the ceremony. Shots include: couple together, solo bride, solo groom, bride & bridesmaid, groom & groomsmen, full bridal party

Ceremony: The ceremony events captured as they take place! (My second shooter and I work together to get simultaneous moments from the best angles.)

Family photos: Immediately after the ceremony is the best time to take family portraits (before everyone scatters).

Reception: The reception captured – by events and by the details. Candid/staged photos of guests. Cake cutting, speeches, dancing – whatever this time holds, until the Mr. & Mrs. departure!

TIMELINE

Contract

If you decide to book Lindsey Blest Photography, I’ll put together a contract for you with payment/fine print details.

Engagement Session

When: A few months before the wedding
Where: A place of your choosing (and I always have ideas, too!)

  • Choose a time and location for your engagement shoot.
  • If you want to use a photo from this for your save the date, think of a prop(s) you’d like to include.
  • You’re welcome to plan for more than one outfit, just let me know in advance.
  • This will also be a great time to talk about your vision for your wedding photos, your preferences for photos (first look or not?), your venues, etc.

Discussing the Day

When: Two months before the wedding
Where: Over coffee/email/Skype

  • Going over the details: I’ll need to a schedule of the day so we can make sure we have adequate timing for photos – do you want to do a first look? When should we do family photos? When will you cut the cake…these are the types of questions I’ll ask.
  • Photographer needs: Will there be a place for the photographers during the reception? Do we need to figure out transportation between locations?

Final Countdown

When: Two weeks before the wedding
Where: Email/Skype/In-person

  • Share the finalized wedding day schedule.
  • Family photos: Provide a list of who and what arrangements you want for family portraits. This will make this process go smoothly!
  • What last minute questions and concerns do you have?
